La Ventana is the perfect neighborhood for someone looking for true country living. Located at Driftwood’s southern section, the ideal La Ventana resident doesn’t mind driving 20 minutes to get groceries or 40 minutes to go shopping. Depending on the lot, La Ventana allows 1-2 horses and has some day horse areas as well. Many of the homes sit on large, 1-5 acre lots and some even have guest houses. La Ventana Neighborhood Map
La Ventana is located just off Elder Hill Road. The easiest access is from FM 150. Take FM 150 south from Driftwood and make a right on Elder Hill Road. Then, make a left on La Ventana Pky. You’ll pass several longhorns and a few horses and end up at the gated entrance. There is also a welcome center (that looks like a barn) on the right side just before the gate.
La Ventana Homes
Homes in La Ventana are just as unique as their owners. As most any builder can build on a lot in La Ventana, residents have a wide range of choices. Most of the homes that have already been built are quite large, with 2,800 – 4,800 sq ft of living space, 4-5 bedrooms, 3-5 bathrooms and 2-4 car garages. You’ll find many of them with luxurious outdoor living spaces, gourmet kitchens with professional appliances, game and media rooms. And, with 1-5 acre lots, most homes sit far away from their neighbors.
La Ventana Neighborhood Amenities
La Ventana is packed full of amenities, so even though you are away from city amenities, you’ll have virtually everything you need in the neighborhood. There’s a community center and pavilion where you can have an indoor or outdoor party. They also have a community pool, driving range, sauna, spa, game room, weight room and children’s play area.
La Ventana Schools
La Ventana is served by the Hays ISD and the Dripping Springs ISD. The Dripping Springs ISD (DSISD) is considered a much better school district. If I was looking to buy in La Ventana, I would make sure the house or lot I purchased was in the Dripping ISD vs the Hays ISD for resale purposes.

- Jack C Hays High
