If you’re looking for Central Texas’ wine country, you’ve found the right city. Driftwood and Wimberley are home to some of Texas’ best wineries. Though Texas wines don’t always get the best reputation, an afternoon in the wine country can be a fun way to spend a few hours. No, you can’t go to hundreds of wineries like in Napa or Sonoma, but you can go to a few decent wineries and have fun.
Driftwood Estate Winery
Driftwood Estate Winery is a small winery that is truly Texas. They opened in 2002 and their tasting room is open daily from 10am-6pm. The great part about Driftwood Estate Winery is you can bring lunch and enjoy the view from their covered pavilion.

Duchman Family Winery
Duchman Family Winery is one of the prettier wineries and tasting rooms in Driftwood. Located next door to a popular Italian Restaurant, Trattoria Lisina, some start in the tasting room and head over to the restaurant for dinner. This one is open late so its a great way to end the afternoon.

Salt Lick Cellars
If you like barbecue and wine, this is the place to go in Driftwood. Its also the perfect place to go after you put your name in for a table at Salt Lick BBQ Restaurant. You can taste several Texas wines there, or buy a glass and sit out on their picnic tables and enjoy the evening.
